Claudio Rocchietta was a  pioneer of the Green Chemistry transition:  he built the world first  industrial scale biodiesel plant and has held key roles in the development of the biofuel industry.

Claudio founded Biofuels Partners (BFP) in 2005: 18 years trackrecord of satisfactory projects being executed all over the world; the main customers having been oil & gas majors, independent biofuels producers, agribusiness corporations and private equity investors.

Claudio founded BFP in Milan, Italy in 2005, after 35 years of international operational/general management experience in Agribusiness and Biofuels. Claudio has been one of the leading persons in the development of Biofuels in Europe with roles as CEO of Novaol, first biodiesel plant in the world based in Italy,  Director on the Board of Vertex Bioenergy in Spain the leading bioethanol producer and President of the European Biodiesel Board. Previously he has been one of the developers of the Green Chemistry strategy which led to the creation of Novamont, Italian biochemical and bioplastics international leading company, after having spent several years with Cargill and Bunge in a variety of business development areas.

Paolo is Partner of BFP, now based in Italy, with more than 20 years international experience in the biofuel, biomass and energy sector. After more than 10 years in consultancy, for the last 10 years Paolo has worked in Germany with Clariant first as Head of Business Development and later as Head of Sales&Marketing in the Cellulosic Biofuels and Derivatives division with global responsibilities focusing in EMEA, North and South America, India and AsiaPacific regions. Paolo has developed expertise in cellulosic bioethanol & renewable diesel/HVO processing technology projects, renewable chemical, biotechnology, biomass to power, sustainability management and lobbying expertees being a Board representative both in the European Biodiesel and Ethanol associations (EBB&ePure). Paolo holds a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from the Politecnico of Milano.

Mladen has more than 20 years experience in the oil and gas sector. Involved in a variety of positions in downstream operations from trade, logistics, planning and optimization, project management to technology R&D. Mladen is ex INA’s Director for the Transformation Project of an oil refinery into a 2G biorefinery. Responsible for project development, sustainability management, biomass supply chain, procurement, project financing and EU funding, (CCS/CCUS/BECCUS). Mladen holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering and Technology at the University of Zagreb.

Michele, an economist from Oxford University and INSEAD by education, has devoted the last ten years to family investments in Cleantech SMEs, leading as CEO the stock market listing on the Milan Stock Echange of one of them focused on biomethane innovation. In 2007/2011 he acted as founder and managing partner of Infrastructure Fund of Generali Insurance, following previous similar position with Macquaire Bank in London. Michele earlier experiences were in BNP Paribas as Director Corporate Finance and IFC/World Bank in Washington as Senior Investment Officer mainly in the Energy and Water sectors.

Michele Rubino is a seasoned business executive based in the United States with an extensive track record in biotech and cleantech. His background covers the energy sector, cleantech, biotech, food and pharma. Throughout his career, he has been involved in multiple roles across different fields. His first expertise is in the area of renewable fuels, bio-based chemicals, synthetic biology, industrial biotechnology and carbon markets. He is passionate about enabling and deploying new technologies and solutions at the intersection between life sciences and sustainability. Michele holds an MS in Industrial Engineering from the Politecnico of Milan as well as an MBA from the Sloan School of Management at MIT.

Martin is a Global Business Development Executive based in the USA having successfully conducted business in over 20 countries for advanced biofuel, renewable chemical, biotechnology and  now strongly focusing as well on e-mobility projects. Martin has been workding for companies such as Clariant, TurnOnGreen, Efficient Robotics, Kemin.  Martin holds an MBA from Iowa State University and supports The State of Iowa Economic Development Authority.

Luigi has more than 20 years of environmental & sustainability assessment,acting as a free-lance professional and leading  projects for sustainability improvement plans.His activities include sustainability advisory, supply chain and traceability, conformity with the major legislative requirements and certification standards, both for  agricultural crops and industrial processing, environmental due diligence, CO₂ emission inventory assessment  and risk analysis. Luigi is also qualified as an auditor and verifier under several Certification Bodies.

Graduated in Agricultural Science followed by an MBA from Bocconi business school, Delia has been operating in the agribusiness field, specifically in non-food applications of agricultural products. She has devoted most of her carrier to biodiesel business development having had several operational roles including product, market and legislative framework development in Italy and Europe;thus gaining specific competences in Regulatory Affairs.

Cristina holds more than 25 years experience in top management secretarial and administrative support. Cristina, an employee of BFP since 2005, has contributed to its establishment and is responsible for the administration and all the organizational activities in the Company.
